Players MUST play in the Division of the grade they are in school CURRENTLY at the time of Registration.
YES. The only exception is for siblings that are one year younger are allowed to play up a Division with their older sibling. Players are not allowed to play in a younger Division.
NO. A child MUST be enrolled in Kindergarten currently to play in the Tee Ball Division. The EGCLLA does not have any pre-school Divisions.
NO. The EGCLLA is for baseball ONLY, the Edwardsville Park & Rec department offers softball. In past years we have had girls play in the EGCLLA for various reasons; they want to play with a sibling or they want to play with some of their classmates.
Shirt sizes are YS(6-8), YM(10-12), YL(14-16), AS, AM, AL, AXL, AXXL. These shirts are cotton and they will shrink a little. We get our uniform shirts from BJ's Printables located at 1415 Troy Road, you can stop in and check the sizes prior to registering.
Practices start the first week of April.
Yes. For Kindergarten – 7th Grades: As of the 2012 season, all non-wood baseball bats(aluminum, composites and others)used in EGCLLA play shall be imprinted with a BPF (bat performance factor) of 1.15 or less. Bats with a BPF higher than 1.15 or bats without a legible BPF label printed on the bat are not permitted for use. Bats with the BBCOR certification label (BBCOR .50) are also legal in K – 7th grades.
For 8th-12th Grades: As of the 2012 season, all non-wood baseball bats used in EGCLLA play must have the BBCOR certification label (BBCOR .50) to be legal. Illegal bats are not to be used in EGCLLA play. Coaches are expected to monitor the bats that their players want to use and should not allow illegal bats to be used. Umpires are expected to inspect the bats in each dugout prior to the game and set aside illegal bats and tell the coach that those bats are not to be used. If an illegal bat is brought into the batter’s box, then the offender will be called out. If it is discovered after an at bat where the ball was hit and runners advanced, then the batter is called out and all runners must return to their original bases.
You will have to come to the walk-in registration day the 3rd Saturday in February from 10:00am - 12:00pm at the Little League office to pay with check or cash. Our online registration system does not allow payment by check or cash.
NO. We will offer a walk-in registration day on the 3rd Saturday in February from 10:00am - 12:00pm at the Little League office located in Hoppe park.
EGCLLA scheduled pre-season practices are for the Kindergarten & 1st Grade Division are 1 hour. Weeknight practices are at 6:00pm & 7:00pm. Saturday practices are at 9:00am, 10:00am, 11:00pm, 12:00pm, 1:00pm, 2:00pm, 3:00pm & 4:00pm. Sunday practices are at 1:00pm, 2:00pm, 3:00pm, 4:00pm & 5:00pm.
2nd - 12th Grade Division pre-season practices are 1 hour 30 minutes. Weeknight practices are at 6:00pm & 7:30pm. Saturday practices are at 9:00am, 10:30am, 12:00pm, 1:30pm, 3:00pm, 4:30pm & 6:00pm. Sunday practices are at 1:00pm, 2:30pm, 4:00pm & 5:30pm.
The EGCLLA only schedules practices for the pre-season, throughout the season some coaches may choose to have additional practices.
All EGCLLA scheduled practices and games will be held at Hoppe Park or LeClaire field in Edwardsville and Miner Park or Village Hall field in Glen Carbon. For the address and directions click on the Locations tab on the Homepage.
Coaches may choose the have practices at alternate locations if they choose.
Games will start on the Monday after Mother's Day.
The Kindergarten - 2nd grade Divisions game schedule will end around the second week of July. 3rd - 12th grade Divisions have a post-season tournament and their season will end around the third week of July. Note: If a team has several rained out games the season may be extended.
NO. The EGCLLA does not require parents to work the concession stands or force them to pay a buyout fee, we want you to enjoy watching your child play the games.
You should be contacted the last week of March, if your coach has not contacted you by March 30 then you should contact the Division Chairman for the age group you registered.
